New Golden Grand!

I'd like to announce that we have a new shaded golden grand champion, our very own brother to Baby Bear, Unity, Jefferson, and Solstice! Bronzie granded this weekend with his owner, Gail, in Texas.

Here is a new picture of him at 8 months old.

What a beautiful golden boy you are too! I fell in love with Bronzie the first time I saw his baby photos. He was such a tiny kiiten and SO adorable. Tracy knew from the start this little boy belonged in the Show Hall and he does!

Just breath taking and I hope to see him in person one day! Baby Bear adores his little brother's picture too!

I do understand to Grand a golden is quite difficult. Well not for our Bronzie :heart

Joane, I thought I read once that breeding silvers was the greatest challenge of all colors. Someone correct me if my memory is failing me these days. :smile

Yes, I have read this too Celeste. I also read where Granding Goldens is even harder than silvers. To achieve such a high success with either one is truly a great accomplishment. Many breeders attempt to breed these colors but change over to something less difficult. I have the highest respect and admiration for the breeders that work through the difficulties and advance this beautiful breed.

Congratulations Tracy Gail and of course the cat of the hour, Bronzie. I think he has the nicest coloring on a golden I have seen in awhile.

Lynda, you are being so humble. I think your goldens are a lovely color too.

Thank you everyone! I have only shown a few goldens and I will say that in my opinion it is far more difficult to get a nice golden than to get a nice silver in a breeding program. But I don't breed for goldens either, although just about all of my cats carry golden since my foundation male was a chinchilla golden. There are so many different colors of golden and a golden without nice color is not showable in my opinion. With silvers, there is only one base color (white) so it is much easier to get good color (except for the lines with tarnishing). I've had quite a few goldens born that look like brown tabbies with barring, beige undercoat, etc. I was so surprised when Bronzie was born that he had the huge eyes, type and warm apricot color all in one package.

Lynda -- your goldens have awesome color! I know color is very important to you too.

Thanks Tracy. I agree that getting a good golden color is tough and showing that golden to a grand is harder. I am still plugging away trying to do just that!

CONGRATULATIONS TRACEY...AND BRONZIE IS SURELY A GRAND CHAMPION!! He is absolutely stunning! I have heard so many amazing things about yourself, your breeding practices and have seen firathand how beautiful your babies and Mommies and Daddies are :smile

You are admired by all who know you and have a stellar reputation. I surely hope to meet you someday .....

And Bronzie is absolutely beautiful and deserves this much coveted Grand - my best to you and wish you all the best always.
