I found this recipe that sounded good for us folks freezing our buns off in NE USA.
CROCK POT BEEF STEW--EASY!
5-7 lb. chuck roast
6-8 oz. frozen corn
6-8 oz. frozen peas
12-16 oz. carrot slices
1 can French cut green beans, drained
1 29 oz. can whole/diced canned potatoes
1 14.5 can Delmonte diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano: 14.5 oz. can
1 large white onion or 1/2 pkg. of pearl onions, finely chopped
1 beef stew seasoning packet
beef bouillon cubes (1 per 1 c. water added)
garlic salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
4-6 c. warm water
Slice off excess fat from chuck and cut into bite size pieces. Add all ingredients into Crock-Pot. Add more or less ingredients to size desired. Set Crock-Pot to high and cook until vegetables are tender and meat is cooked through |

LOL I'm far from freezing, salad weather here
It does sound very nice. I will file it, and make it, in a few months when winter hits here |

I'm making something like that in my crockpot today, Joane.
We are freezing in Florida today.
Really, it was in the 20's in some parts and I don't think it will even get to 50 this week. The good thing is that the sun is out and it is warm, if you are in it. |

I heard Florida was very cold too. Sheryl, send us some HEAT!!! With a wind chill of zero, we need help over here!
I actually posted this recipe at work for our staff and patients to enjoy. It was a big hit. I made stew yesterday and am having leftovers today. I just can't get warm! |

I even made biscuits and had mashed potatoes with ours. Now I know why we got fatter when we were up north. Nothing like good comfort food. |

LOL Ellie! I gained a couple of pounds since 12/31. I made Italian stuffed shells, lasagna, etc. And then of course I MUST have my dessert also! The price I pay when it is too cold to go out! |

After eating comfort food, today I am being good. I am having chicken and broccoli and a baked potato for dinner. I really wanted chicken and dumplings but I am being good today! |
