Thought I'd share a couple pictures of the show today.

Beautiful show pictures Lynda. I so wish I could have been there. How was the show? Boo looks fabulous!
Celeste

Thanks for sharing Lynda!  Boo's coat looks great! :big grin  Where was this show?  You probably mentioned this before and I wasn't paying attention. :red face

Hudson. Ma. There is one on Cape Cod next weekend, but given the fact that Thanksgiving is so close and I'll be putting in alot of hours at work I think I'll forego that show. Can't risk wearing myself out and getting sick for the holidays.
Celeste

I don't blame you Lynda.  Is the attendance usually good when it is so close to a major holiday?
posiepurrs

I think most clubs try not to schedule them close to holidays. That one really isn't that close, it's just with my job we will be going full tilt for awhile due to the hoilday. I do know that in the Springfield area there is a MAJOR dog show Thanksgiving week - it runs something like 5 days straight. I think you will see fewer cats shows - 2 clubs in my area have cancelled shows for 2009 and I heard today that another is considering not having the one where I met you. Soon the northeast won't have any shows left if the trend continues.

Oh Lynda, Boo is so beautiful (with his freshly bathed and combed coat, of course... :lol ).   His little face looks so much like Lucie's, but there was no way she would have tolerated all that bathing and combing!  :lol  :lol   Hope he did well in the show.   :big grin
Celeste

This is sad!  I certainly hope the economy turns around quickly.  Well we know any dog contenders/owners will not be making too much for Thanksgiving dinner. :lol

I wondering now whether the Providence Civic Center and West Warwick have been booked yet?
Jean

Boo looked great!!  The other cat did not look nearly as good as Boo, his coat looked like he may have been clipped not too long ago.  I miss cat shows but don't have that energy anymore.   I hope the one in B'ham in January will still be held, I want to go this year and shop with some of the vendors as well as see the cats.  :smile   Do tell us how Boo did? We're pulling for him of course. :big grin

I can not believe Boo didn't win he look wonderful

Jean, Boo was second best of breed in his color class. Not very impressive when you see there were only 2 in the class! The other cat was a grand so it is a given that he would be best of breed. Even though the titles aren't in the judges book they know who has granded and who hasn't. The other cat is more extreme than Boo which is the current trend for silver and goldens. I thought - and this could be a loving owner speaking- that Boo did have the nicer coat. They don't just judge on coat though.
Celeste, the show at the Cape is the one that was in West Warick last year. Two of the clubs who cancelled shows are folding - they won't be around any more to put on shows.

Boo is so handsome!
Sasha

I think Boo looks wonderful!!!!   His coat is gorgeous.   :smile
Sheryl

Boo looks wonderful :heart

Boo is the prettier golden and should have won. He was robbed of First Place!
luciesmommie

Well, rather than feeling disappointed you could always report the results of the show as "Boo came in second, and (the other cat) came in next to last!"     (I can't remember where that came from, it's not original, but I always thought it was worth a chuckle!   :big grin )

I know my opinion counts for nothing to cat show judges, but from the pictures I saw, Boo is far more beautiful a cat.  :confused

Thanks everyone. I am a bit prejudiced about how handsome my boy is! I do try to remember though that the judges have to handle these cats to judge them. They can feel things that aren't apparent to the eye. They get paid for their opinions and that is just what they are - opinions. Some don't really judge to the standard - they have a look they like that they reward. I have had one judge make the statement as he was judging Boo that he never finals goldens because he doesn't like them.  Thank goodness those kind of judges are few and far between. No matter what a judge thinks Boo is King around here and that's a whole lot better than being a grand!!!
JoaneWing

Doesn't like goldens?????? And some people have NO taste!!! My claws are out Lynda LOL!
