That's kind of my chili too. Sometimes I add more beans and some salsa or green peppers. Nice and easy.

I serve a salad and corn bread with chili Heather. Also---I love mashed potatoes with it. Then again, us Irishmen love our potatoes---LOL!
I hope Steve enjoys the recipe Celeste. Fast to prepare too.

Another thing I do with leftover chili is use it as a Taco Salad. Heather, have you had one of these?
With lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese and some dorito chips you have a great meal. I am doing that tonight since my husband is having a dinner/financial meeting ,so I plan on staying home.

Am having a chilli night tonight girls - but sorry - sticking with the plain boiled rice oh and putting some sour cream dip on the top with a little grated cheddar cheese and serving the lot with extra strong garlic bread - yummmmmmmmmy.
All this talk of chilli got my taste buds going!

Chili over rice sounds great to me. There is a version here called "dirty" rice which is spicy and is sometimes served with chili too. ENJOY!

Dirty Rice Not too sure on that one!
I tend to use Basmati Rice - used mostly with Indian Curries over here.

I do a chili recipe that is a rip off of the Wendys chili. I am not one for measuring so here goes
1 1/2 pounds hamburger
1 15 oz can each of pinto, black and kidney beans
1 can of diced tomatoes with chilis
1 can of toamato sauce (usually use the 12- 13 oz one)
1 tsp cumin
2 tsp black pepper
1 large onion, diced
1 tbsp chili powder
2 stalks celery, diced
Brown the meat, drain, add the rest of the ingrefients and cook slowly stirring every 15 minutes or so. I serve it with cornbread, cheese and sour cream. Sometimes I do a taco salad.

Your recipe sounds great Lynda. I don't measure when I cook either. I eyeball everything. I do measure when I bake however. I love taco salad too!
