Aspiring breederWell I am not a breeder but one day I may aspire to be one. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Joane, I will never have what it takes. :(

I couldn't give them up, so what's the point? I would just have lots and lots of kitties

Me too--I always hate goodbyes. :(

That's how I feel as well. I am not a good enough person to breed babies and then hand them over to someone else. It takes a special person to do this. I admire breeders for this reason.

20 years of failures - ready to try againI've spent 20 years of attempts at breeding, purchasing the queens, arranging matings - and have had nothing but misery.
Today I find myself much better prepared, and am going to try again! I'll do a contract of course, that says if they can't keep them, to bring them back to me, and all sorts of other stuff.
I've learned that if you sell a persian as a pet quality - FIX him/her beforehand! That saves much grief through accidental breeding.
I'm willing to show, and see what I can do. I've obtained an extreme-faced kitten, but her nose is nicely positioned. No dental, jaw crooked, or even a kink in the tail. Until the fire, she was destined to be part of the cattery, and had extra attention paid to her - so, she's not only sweet as pie, but well-mannered.
And best of all!? PKD tested NEGATIVE!!
She's just woken up, and wants to play!
Today, I'm deciding on a Cattery name.
